BAFTA 2021 Winners Announced.

This year BAFTA awards began on Saturday with their opening night ceremony where they announced the winners of the technical categories, with the second night held on Sunday where they revealed the winners of the remaining major awards. 

The British radio and television presenter Clara Amfo hosted the opening night ceremony which saw films inclusive of ‘Tenet’ and ‘Sound of Metal’ win the awards. Noel Clarke was also recognised for his special contribution to British cinema. 

Sunday nights ceremony was hosted by James McAvoy, David Oyelowo, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Pedro Pascal, Richard E Grant, Cynthia Erivo and Hugh Grant.  

‘Nomadland’ led the awards with four wins inclusive of Chloe Zhao winning the Director award and is only the second woman to have won. ‘The Father,’ ‘Soul,’ ‘Ma Rainey's Black Bottom,’ ‘Promising Young Woman’ all won two awards on the night, with ‘Promising Young Woman’ winning Outstanding British Film.
