‘Nosferatu’ is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman in 19th century Germany and the ancient Transylvanian vampire who stalks her, bringing untold horror with him. 

Already cast in the movie is Lily Rose-Depp, Bill Skarsgard and Nicholas Hoult, with Robert Eggers at the helm who has also penned this re-imagination of the tale.

Not only does the project reunite Robert Eggers and Willem Dafoe, who worked together on ‘The Lighthouse’ and ‘The Northman’, the project will be one of importance for Willem Dafoe, as he earned an Oscar nomination playing the Nosferatu creature in ‘Shadow of the Vampir.’

It is unknown who Willem Dafoe will be playing. The two likely possibilities for Willem Dafoe’s character are the film’s anecdotes for Dr. Van Helsing and the vampire’s assistant Renfield (those names weren’t used in the 1922 original, but they were in Werner Herzog’s previous 1979 remake, also called 'Nosferatu').
