‘The Pope’s Exorcist’ which Russell Crowe plays Father Gabriele Amorth, who long held the position of the Pope’s personal exorcist. If that name sounds familiar, it’s because he was the subject of William Friedkin’s documentary ‘The Devil And Father Amorth’ back in 2017. Although the film of course takes the factorial elements and puts a bit of a yarn on these for head spinning entertainment

The film directed by ‘Overlord’ director Julius Avery is a supernatural horror which follows Father Amorth as he faces down a young boy’s possession. 

It’ll be the battle of the Exorcists on the big screen this year as ‘The Pope’s Exorcist’ lands first on the 14th of April in cinemas and then David Gordon Green’s reboot-quel of ‘The Exorcist’ (another Blumhouse collaboration, after his Halloween sequel trilogy) comes our way around Halloween.
