Director Fede Alvarez new movie in the Alien franchise which has a tentative working title of ‘Alien: Romulus’ was originally designed to debut on Hulu, but Disney have recently announced the 9th instalment will now head straight for a theatrical release on the 16th of August 2024.

Ridley Scott is producing the film, which has a cast including Cailee Spaeny, Isabela Merced, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Spike Fearn and Aileen Wu.

Filming has taken place in Budapest the last few weeks and is wrapping up imminently.

Whilst a lot of the plot has been kept under wraps what has been revealed is “a group of young people on a distant world, who find themselves in a confrontation with the most terrifying life form in the universe.”
